Portrayal |
The Praying man was a third-class individual who boarded on the RMS Titanic Liverpool on April 10, 1912. On April 15, when the ship started sinking, he prayed for himself to survive the sinking to causing Jack to make him hurry up climbing the stern, because he was talking and slowing himself down. The praying man eventually made it to the stern, but when the ship split and when the stern plunged into the ocean, he was lost along with the hundreds of other passengers. He can be seen among the passengers when Jack and Rose are standing at the stern of the ship. He almost certainly died, either from falling to his death or dying from cardiac arrest from the freezing waters or hypothermia.
In James Cameron's Titanic, the man was portrayed by Barry Dennen.
