Historical character |
Arthur Ryerson was a minor character and a first class passenger of the RMS Titanic.
Jack Dawson "borrowed" his coat and hat in order to enter the 1st class and approach Rose DeWitt Bukater. It was while wearing this coat that he was planted with the Heart of the Ocean by Spicer Lovejoy to be accused as a thief by Cal as revenge for "stealing" Rose from him. Since the coat was not his, it was also used as a way to frame Jack for being a crook.
Behind the scenes[]
Ryerson's coat is seen sitting on a bench next to a man with a boy. Although not mentioned in dialogue, a viewer would suppose that Ryerson is the elderly man watch Douglas Spedden spin his top.
